Due to the rapid growth that Ranpak is currently experiencing and further professionalization of Procurement, the company is looking for an Operational Buyer to support and develop the Procurement team.

Your role as an Operational Buyer

Procurement is one of the most important divisions within Ranpak Supply Chain organization and is responsible for all direct and indirect expenditures. The organization’s aim is to deliver “best class performance”.

As the Operational Buyer, you are responsible for the execution of the purchasing process within the Ranpak Supply Chain. You are the point of contact for the (internal) customer and the suppliers. You ensure that the availability of products and raw materials is sufficient and ordered and received in timely manner, addressing to the right delivery location whilst meeting the quality standards against the most favorable commercial conditions. You contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing processes and maintain the purchasing level and standards. You make analyses, keep a pulse on performance of the suppliers and you ensure optimal customer-supplier relationships.

As an Operational Buyer, you create an open and constructive cooperation with the internal stakeholders to determine a precise and clear demand requirements at hand, technically, qualitatively and quantitively.

You are able to transform Purchase Requisitions to Purchase orders and communicate this to the relating suppliers. You are able to monitor progress and secure on-time order confirmation from the supplier, with the agreed price level and finally that the actual delivery of commodities to the plant is on time.

The Operational Buyer is in constant alignment and communication with the supplier to avoid delay in deliveries. You are able to expedite and anticipate further action should such problems arise. In addition, when invoice disputes arise, the Operational buyer is responsible to resolve the issues at hand. You are also able to translate data from the ERP system into valuable supplier performance reports as input for the strategic direction of the commodity.

The Operational Buyer reports directly to the Procurement Manager and works in close cooperation with the Strategic Buyer.

Your profile

As an Operational Buyer, you have insight into production improvement processes, ensuring deliverables are met by the procurement team. You are experienced in the purchasing process of transforming a Purchase Requisition to a Purchase Order, and the complete P2P cycle. You are driven by optimizing purchase requirements while still meeting the stakeholders’ demands. In addition, you are a negotiator with excellent communication skills.

You are proactive and you are agile, able to work within constant changing situations whilst communicating information to suppliers and internal stakeholders. You are an independent worker and able to work within a team. You are able to look beyond your own tasks and are determined to achieve the results as planned.

Furthermore you recognize yourself in the following:

• Completed vocational education with HBO working and thinking level;
• Experience in a technical / commercial production area with a proven track record in a procurement role;
• Experience in ERP preferably with SAP is a pre;
• Good working knowledge of P2P cycles;
• Completed a NEVI 1 Degree
• You are able to ‘oil the wheels’ of the purchasing process;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch. In addition, English is preferred.
